Moana Ringcraft offer locals Jewellery Classes

Moana Ringcraft have jewellery classes on every Saturday morning from 10am-11:30am. The workshop can fit up to 6 students at a time and your inquiry should be in by Friday 2pm to secure a space for the next lesson. Every month we will have a different design topic for you to work with which will be displayed on the Facebook page and below.

Environment Centre Working Bee

On Sunday 16th June Oakura School had a working bee to plant 1000 trees for our new Enviro Centre, which we won funding from the Treemendous School Makeover competition. Even though it was a drizzly day, we had a fantastic turn out and would like to thank everyone involved. The Mayor Harry Duynhoven was there to close the event and Ruud Kleinpaste was the MC. The Kapa haka group, along with the students that were there, welcomed everybody in, and then we started planting. After all the trees were planted, The Mazda Foundation kindly sponsored all of us a sausage sizzle for the hot and hungry workers. Thank you to everyone who came and helped make the day a part of Oakura School history!

The Digital Era

Welcome to our new site dedicated to sharing the stories of Oakura and the wider coastal district of Taranaki. This site is run from the office of TOM Oakura, the local print magazine which features stories and images from people within the Taranaki community. We want your articles & we want to put the community’s voice in the public domain more often. Our new site will provide this, with time we hope it will become our communities message board, the go to for what's happening in this great area.
