The Val Deakin Dance Theatre will be presenting their very popular DANCE DELIGHTS programme at Jean Sandel Rest Home on Sunday, August 2 at 2 pm. On display will be works from the Dance Theatre’s extensive repertoire.

The cast will be led by American-born ballerina Jane Roseman and will include some of the Dance Theatre’s most experienced and versatile performers including Inge Vink, Davina Moffat, Donna Kelly, Rosanne Taylor and Mervyn Chivers.

Lynda and Morris West are sure to steal the show with their very funny rendition of the Ugly Sisters from Cinderella. Also on the programme will be Jason Corcoran and Ling Fan as well as several younger members of the Dance Theatre performing a Butterfly dance and a Cat’s dance.

Included on the programme will be the famous romantic classical ballet Pas de Quatre – a recreation of the meeting of the four most famous European ballerinas of the 19th century. Excerpts from the ballet Cinderella include the humourous Ugly Sisters and the dances of the Seasons. There are also two contemporary dance works on the programme, a rousing Hungarian Czardas from the ballet Coppelia and a waltz from Swan Lake.

Musical sections for the programme will be provided by the well know duet Guitarra – guitarists Dominique Blatti and Ross Townsend.

Tickets for the programme are only $10 and are available from the activities team at Jean Sandel.
