Congratulations to New Zealander Eleanor Catton winning the prestigious Man Booker Prize for 2013.

Her lengthy novel, the Luminaries is “an astrological mystery set in 1866 Hokitika”. Book your copy now!

Our final crackerjacks(preschool story time)for this year will be held on Thursday 14th November 2013 at 9:45 am. No booking required all welcome.

Over the school holidays we shifted our holiday programme to the library deck. It was a glorious morning for a story and painting craft. I read Stuck a humorous picture book by Oliver Jeffers.

Local Oakura resident Isaac Drought has recently published Alphabet Squabble. We have a copy of this delightful children’s picture book that delivers a powerful message.

Our Christmas/New Year holiday hours: We will be closed from Tuesday 24th December 2013 to Sunday 5th January 2014.

We will reopen on Monday 6th January 2014 at 12:00pm.

From then on we will have normal opening hours throughout the summer.

Charlie and Vincenza.
